A Year of Impact
A Year with professor Brady
I remember being in high school and almost everyday out of senior year you hear a teacher say “in college the professors aren’t going to care about you”. Coming into my freshman year i was your average scared freshman, with no clue as for what’s to come. In fact, about two weeks into college i was ready to withdrawal and continue on my journey as being a full time aspiring artist. It was hearing professor Brady’s enthusiastic personality, and seeing her love for what she does and helping students that kept me around.
I don’t know where to begin with all the fishbowls, lectures, and class laughs from both the fall semester and the spring semester i have learned an abundance of things from different genres of literature to life long lessons. I was always a good writer in high school but never seemed to be into it. Professor Brady brings to light real issues and topics that other professors might now think to talk on. I began not just writing for the grade that would be stamped on my paper, but for a purpose. The thing i loves most about it was that the classroom was always a fun loving work environment filled with energy. It could be 8am and once professor Brady walks through that door everyone is awaken. Her style of teaching was something i have never seen from any other teacher in my 19 years of life, but it is defiantly one that won’t be forgotten.
If it wasn’t for Professor Brady i wouldn’t be finishing my freshman year. She has in more ways than i can even put in words helped me not only as a student, but as a young woman. I thought at one point i wouldn’t be able to juggle both school and trying to make a name for myself in the rap industry, professor Brady was my light at the end of the tunnel. Whether it was at school or at home when i would find myself in a time of sadness or felt like i couldn’t keep pushing forward it was Brady’s loud voice and big smile that kept me going. You have to think how can she always show up to work giving every student her undivided attention? How does she come to work everyday with a smile? It was her work ethic that taught me something so important. You can give a teacher or professor a bunch of students and they can do as they please. Professor Brady cared, that isn’t something i can say for all professors. I want to personally thank you Professor for being more than just a professor to me, being my mentor, my shoulder to cry on, and above all a friend.
Im officially crying!!! Thank you for sharing your freshman year with me and FSC!!! I wish you nothing but the best... always!!!!!!
